Developed by Meg-Alert (Minocqua, WI), Motor Guard, a 480v motor testing and protection system, is designed to detect winding insulation breakdown in critical motors.

If an abnormal condition is detected, the motor can be locked out, or a warning signal sent, indicating that the motor requires attention. Downtime is said to be reduced as these critical motors can be pulled out of production on a predictive schedule rather than after a catastrophic failure.
