Cookson Plastic Molding (Latham, NY) and GE Plastics (Pittsfield, MA) have developed AdvantEDGE(TM), said to be the first pallet to meet the new National Fire Protection Assn.'s standards for industrial fire safety.

The 56-lb, 40"x48" pallet can handle load capacities of 2꼀 lb with a uniformly distributed load. The top and bottom decks of the pallet are made of GE's Noryl® resin, a blend of polyphenylene ether and polystyrene. The pallet's corner and center blocks are made of Xenoy® resin, a blend of polycarbonate and polybutylene terephthalate also from GE.
