OMAC releases position papers, solicits feedback

After 15 months of studying how best to remedy the complexity that results from proliferation of packaging machine controls, the OMAC Motion for Packaging Initiative working group has issued a series of position papers documenting its recommendations. See them at http://omac.packworld.com.

The papers, covering programming languages, architecture, connectivity, and education, can be viewed at Packaging World's OMAC Web site: http://omac.packworld.com. Buyers and suppliers of packaging equipment can post feedback. An open forum will be held to discuss and to receive comments on the papers September 10 at 1 p.m. in the Venetian Hotel, Galileo Room 1002, during Pack Expo Las Vegas. For a basic explanation of OMAC (Open Modular Architecture Controls), see https://www.packworld.com/go/omac.
