Cheers to UK brewer upon environmental award win

Adnams, a mid-sized brewer in England, won the top prize in the carbon Trust Innovation Awards this year.

Among its achievements, the company opened a low carbon-emission distribution center built with lime and hemp. The facilities' roof is lined with plants such as sedum. And, in regard to packaging, the company produces one of the lightest beer bottles on the UK beer market. The light-weight bottle (299g) cuts Adnams' carbon emissions, or global footprint, by 415 tons per year. Now that's something to cheer about.
