IPL Packaging Renews FSC Partnership

Packaging company extends collaboration with Forest Stewardship Council, highlighting dedication to responsible sourcing and eco-friendly design practices.

IPL Packaging renewed its partnership with the Forest Stewardship Council (FSC) for 2025. As one of the nearly 1,200 international members across 89 countries, IPL continues their commitment to FSC and responsible manufacturing into the future. 

As a leader in sustainable forestry, FSC is guided by a vision for a world where the true value of forests is recognized by all. IPL is committed to this vision through a holistic packaging design and manufacture philosophy which treats responsible packaging as an intrinsic value for the company. That philosophy ensures that IPL is current on packaging best practices by understanding the opportunities and limitations of materials. 

ā€œFor many years, IPL has shared values with FSC regarding sustainable forestry. We recognized over that time that validation of our manufacturing was important for ourselves, our clients, and our forestsā€ said Glen Broomberg, Head of Global Business Development. ā€œBut sharing those values and having them certified are two different challenges. Certification with FSC ensures we are recognized and accountable globally.ā€ 

For over 30 years, the standards for FSC certification have been grounded in actions which positively impact forests worldwide. At its heart, it verifies sustainable sourcing and services through an ecosystem of forest managers, businesses, nonprofits and others. Alongside their partners, FSC advocates for forest restoration, zero deforestation and biodiversity preservation. Increasingly, it extends to community and Indigenous Peoples rights and social responsibility. Today, the organization oversees over 160 million certified hectares of forest.

IPL takes packaging personally. The philosophy presents the opportunity for a cooperative investment in design that represents collaboration, trust, and expertise. Today, secondary packaging design must factor in a mix of materials resulting in novel design concepts. Those materials matter to IPL.
