Massman acquires EDL

The addition of EDL expands Massman’s extensive product offering and complements their existing product lines.

Massman Automation Designs, LLC, providing innovative packaging solutions for more than 35 years, has acquired EDL Packaging Engineers, Inc. The addition of EDL expands Massman’s extensive product offering and complements their existing product lines. Massman completed the acquisition Oct. 31, 2016 and will continue to operate and expand EDL Packaging Engineers in Green Bay, WI.

EDL is a manufacturer of shrink wrappers, shrink bundlers, corrugated tray formers and loaders, roll wrappers, automatic flight bar wrappers, and semi-automatic wrapping equipment. EDL equipment can currently be found in the food, pet food, dairy, personal care, carpet and contract packaging industries.

“We are excited to welcome the EDL team,” says Jeff Bigger, Massman’s President and CEO. “EDL’s extensive experience in Shrink Wrapping perfectly complements Massman’s experience in Case Packing and end-of-line packaging solutions. EDL also expands our offering in Flexible Packaging. EDL’s focus on quality, customized solutions and customer service aligns with Massman’s allowing for the combined companies to provide broader and more complete solutions to our customers.”

Under Ken Carter’s leadership as founder and President, EDL has grown a premier brand and excellent team in the packaging industry. “I have been looking for a company to partner with EDL for some time,” says Carter. “Having formed this new relationship with Massman assures the long-term success of EDL, the team and the brand.”
