American National Can (Chicago, IL) developed the exclusive shaping technology jointly with Oberburg Eng. of Switzerland. "We want to see how the contour can actually works in the marketplace," says Coca-Cola USA president Jack Stahl. A special six-pack overwrap carrier, with partially open corners to showcase the contour cans inside, has been designed for the introduction. It will be followed by eight- and 18-packs, says Coke spokesperson Carol Martel.
