Cognex certified to issue continuing education units

Cognex Corp., a supplier of machine vision systems and sensors, has been certified to issue Continuing Education Units (CEUs) to those who complete its classroom courses, live and recorded online classes, and computer-based tutorials.

"Many people who are licensed in their field, such as certified manufacturing engineers, technologists, and managers, as well as tradespeople such as electricians, must regularly attend professional development courses that award CEUs," says Dr. Cliff Fitzgerald, Senior Manager, Worldwide Educational Services for Cognex. "Now the programs we offer help these individuals to maintain their licenses, and our students are assured that they are participating in the highest quality classroom and online courses and tutorials that meet strict IACET guidelines." IACET, which stands for the International Association for Continuing Education and Training (IACET), is a non-profit association dedicated to quality continuing education and training programs. IACET certifies programs that meet strict continuing education guidelines and authorizes educational providers to award the IACET Continuing Education Unit (CEU).

Cognex says it is the first machine vision vendor to be certified to award CEUs.
