Shrink label decorates single-serve soymilk

In fall 2001, White Wave, Boulder, CO, launched its 11-oz single-serve soymilk Silk® with a 2-mil PVC shrink label from Seal-It (Farmingdale, NY). The graphics, including a splash of soymilk, are gravure-printed in 10 colors.

“The Silk single-serve packaging is a first [for soymilk] that we hope will help fuel the mission to integrate soy into the average American diet,” says White Wave president Steve Demos.

The graphics on the shrink label indicate the plain, vanilla, and chocolate flavors by the colors red, blue, and brown. The full-body label is printed on Seal-It’s automatic equipment and shrunk to a polyethylene terephthalate bottle in a heat tunnel.

White Wave will not reveal its co-packer or material suppliers or specifications.

Silk single servings are available in the dairy case at natural food stores, Walgreens pharmacies, and grocery stores across the country for $1.49.
