Aptar: Auto-inject drug delivery system

Designed and developed with input from patients and healthcare professionals, Aptar Pharma’s Pro-Ject auto-injector drug delivery system features push-on-skin activation, slow injection, a hidden needle, a large and visible indicator window, and audible clicks that let the user know when an injection begins and ends.

Push-on-skin activation allows those who cannot use their thumbs to push a button to activate the device. Slow injection addresses the perception that auto-injectors that deliver drugs too fast are painful.  A hidden needle relieves the anxiety and pain some users feel when they see needles.  A large and highly-visible indicator window, coupled with an end-of injection color indicator, tells users the status of the injection.  And audible feedback in the form of clicks at the beginning and the end of the injection process, also help users know the status of the injection.
