Survey responses from end users as opposed to machine builders occupy the bulk of this story because there was a more measurable (and thus more reportable) difference in end user responses in 2009 compared to 2006. Chart 4 is a good example. Machine builders, on the other hand, responded similarly to the way they did in 2006.
One question we did not ask machine builders in 2006 was this one about mechatronics. It suggests that mechatronics is by now a pretty well established weapon in the machine builder’s arsenal.
