DuPont Packaging: Copolymers

Elvaloy® AC ethylene copolymers are a new family of universal polymer modifiers from DuPont (Wilmington, DE) for polyolefins, polyesters, and engineering plastics.

Copolymers offer different options for increasing the impact strength of packaging resins or making blend components compatible. Small additions are usually sufficient to achieve the desired effect, so that the basic properties of the main polymer remain virtually unchanged. The thermal stability, crystalline melting point, melt strength, and processing ability of Elvaloy AC exceed the values of conventional ethylene copolymers, company says. Copolymer is available in 3 basic grades: ethylene-methacrylate, ethylene-ethyl acrylate, and ethylene-butyl acrylate.
