The Merlin “Blu” is innovatively engineered with several tool-less removal features and an easy-to-clean design suitable for a wide range of challenging industries.
Michael Dann, Director for Rose Forgrove, notes that the Blu Series Merlin flow wrapper has a number of features that make it inherently hygienic and easy to use. “The Merlin Blu infeed can be dismantled without tools in less than 2 minutes and has a quick-release infeed catch tray. The folding box is self-threading and simple to adjust.” Dann added, “This flow wrapper sets a new standard in hygienic flow wrapping technology for its class and delivers tremendous value to our customers.”
The hygienic features also include sloped surfaces and rounded legs that minimize debris build up. The easy-to-clean features are matched by technical highlights of “no product-no bag”, a feature that minimizes film waste, and an intuitive icon-based interface for fast, repeatable changeovers. The new guard design provides operators a clear view of the product throughout the wrapping process.
“The greatest interest for this model is coming from bakery, confectionery and fresh produce companies,” said Ian Bickerdike, Business Development Leader – Horizontal Systems. “The versatility is there for a wide range of food applications, as well as personal care and medical/pharmaceutical flow wrapping applications; which makes the Merlin “Blu” a perfect machine for contract packers. The design team has also minimized the footprint substantially for this model.”

The production rate for the Rose Forgrove Merlin Blu is 100 (single jaw) to 200 (twin jaw) packages per minute, and package range is up to 120mm high by 300m wide.
