Federal Manufacturing, powered by Pro Mach, will feature at Pack Expo 2012, McCormick Place in Chicago, its latest Extended-Shelf-Life (ESL) filling technology.  (Federal Pack Expo 2012 Booth #1878)

A new 30-valve net-weight (non-contact) ESL filler with a 10-station pick and place capping turret will be on display. This filler can be equipped with hot water sanitizing for juice or drinking yogurt applications or steam sterilization for extended life Ultra-High-Temperature (UHT) processed milk or dairy beverages.

A new model filler/capper will also be on display at Federal’s booth. This new machine, built for a picante salsa hot sauce application, features a gravity/pressure 42-valve model filler that can run 5.0L through 350ml PET bottles. This filler features an automated clean-in-place capability with bi-directional flow of cleaning solution through the filling valves and all product contact surfaces. Neck handling and sanitizing systems can be supplied for filling and capping.

In terms of stand-alone capping technology, Federal will be exhibiting a 5-station free-standing pick and place capping machine. The turret features all stainless steel spindles and hysteresis heads and variable speed drive. The system is designed to cap round industrial-style gallon bottles. The capper on display can be electronically synchronized to the operation of a filler.
