Spring-loaded vacuum grid with an adjacent neoprene rubber roller is used for consistent controlled label application. After a label is printed, it is dispensed onto a vacuum grid. As the product travels down the conveyor past the applicator, the front panel of the case or product strikes the spring-loaded vacuum grid holding the label. As the box advances, the label is applied to the front panel and then the side panel. A rubber roller follows the label to assure complete adhesion.
