Marconi Data Systems Inc. (Wood Dale, IL) has signed a definitive agreement with Danaher Corp. (Washington, D.C.) where Danaher will purchase Marconi Data Systems for $400 million USD.

—Georgia-Pacific (Atlanta, GA) has acquired a minority ownership interest in Niles Packaging Products (Niles, MI). —Sebesta Blomberg (Roseville, MN) has acquired certain assets of Metsys Engineering (Roseville, MN). —Sonoco (Hartsville, SC) has purchased the United Kingdom-based core and tube converting business from Smurfit UK Limited (Dublin, Republic of Ireland). —Sercos N.A. (Bloomingdale, IL) has formed the North American Sercos Technical Working Group. —Coors Brewing Co. (Golden, CO) and Ball Corp. (Broomfield, CO) have signed a definitive agreement for the mfg. and supply of 4.5 billion aluminum beverage cans to be used by Coors annually. —The Canadian Plastics Industry Assn.
