Quaker, Graham announce plant-within-a-plant

Chicago-based Quaker Oats and Graham Packaging of York, PA, have announced plans to establish a plant-within-a-plant to blow mold hot-fillable polyethylene terephthalate bottles for Gatorade® Thirst Quencher.

Graham, which had no supplier relationship prior to the Sept. 14 announcement, will install and operate the PET bottle manufacturing facility at the Quaker plant in Atlanta. Total investment to add blow-molding equipment and related space is pegged at nearly $40 million.
