Nordson: Starter kits for integrating melters

Nordson Corporation has created starter kits to help users easily integrate their ProBlue and ProBlue Liberty melters into a parent machine; the all-inclusive kits can reduce PLC programming time from over 50 hours to less than one, and are available as a free download for all Nordson customers.

Not all customers realize that their packaging line can be fully integrated and controlled by one user interface on the parent machine. By integrating a hot melt dispensing system into the parent machine, customers can create their own customized and intuitive control panel on the machine, increasing efficiency and reducing the amount of operator training required. It also increases equipment monitoring and control functions, making nearly all melter data available for analysis. Integration also provides more design flexibility, resulting in a packaging solution that is best crafted to meet the customer’s needs.

Nordson’s starter kits include a quick-start guide with a demonstration video for step-by-step guidance through the integration process, example HMI and PLC code for easy customization, intuitive tags for all available melter data, and other system-specific needs. Kits are currently available for Allen Bradley and Siemens PLC systems.
