RFID at Centraal Boekhuis

Item-level RFID using print-and-apply RFID labeling system at Centraal Boekhuis.

The Logopak(www.logopakcorp.com) 906 II TB labeling system shown operates at rates to 60 books/min in applying an RFID label to individual books at the Centraal Boekhuis operation in Culemborg, The Netherlands.

Centraal Boekhuis (CB), a venerable logistics provider between book distributors and retail stores, implemented the system for one customer, a store chain run by the book trade group BGN. The RFID-tagged books are currently provided to three of the BGN-owned bookstores, with more stores planned in the future. The expansion compelled CB to upgrade its RFID tagging processes from manual to automatic using the Logopak system. Following a successful test, in June 2008 CB installed two Logopak 906 II TB systems.
