Primera is first in its class for thermal resistance, and it features a smooth, high quality printing surface. To date, no single specification has been able to meet the high demands of different printing technologies, which has increased complexity in the blister market.

Primera Lid Foil was launched earlier this year and has already demonstrated its versatility and value for pharmaceutical companies, contract manufacturers and printers across Europe and Latin America.

In September, Primera was given full release by the Swiss printing solutions company HAPA for ink systems 26, 38, 39, 78 DOD, 78 Webjet and 80 ULP. This makes it the first and only primer to achieve a release across this many systems, while continuing to deliver premium results on standard rotogravure, flexo, UV-flexo as well as CSAT, Wolke and Atlantic Zeiser systems.

Andrea Della Torre, R&D Pharma Director at Amcor Flexibles Europe & Americas, explains: “We are very proud to help our customers in their supply chain simplification efforts. Indeed, they are able to reduce both their logistics complexity as well as their working capital requirements, as they can now have a single Primera Lid Foil, where in the past they may have needed to source up to three different primer systems.”

Colin Reed, Global Pharma Marketing Director at Amcor Flexibles Europe & Americas adds: “Primera Lid Foil is an important step in our ongoing drive to use innovation to simplify our customers’ supply chain, improve business continuity and to reduce the total cost of packaging ownership”.
