Vista Packaging acquired by ViskoTeepak

Vista International Packaging, LLC (Vista), a full-line food packaging supplier to the United States meat and poultry industries, has been acquired by ViskoTeepak of Mariehamn, Finland, an international manufacturer of cellulose, fibrous, and plastic casings for the food industry.

The companies have had a long-standing strategic relationship with Vista as the exclusive converting, sales, and service representative in the US market for ViskoTeepak’s fibrous casings, Nova tubular plastic casings, and Wienie-Pak cellulose casings.

The acquisition is the subsequent step of an equity interest ViskoTeepak took in Vista in 2012 and is motivated by the desire to increase market share in the US, which is one of the 3 largest global markets for fibrous casings.

“This is a win-win for everybody because it creates an opportunity for ViskoTeepak to enhance a strong supply base of fibrous, tubular plastic and cellulose products here in the U.S.  Vista becomes an integral part of a global organization with access to world class research and development, and support services that will strengthen our competitive position by improving upon our ability to offer the most innovative and effective casings solutions in the market,” said Ron Ramsey, Vice President of Sales and Marketing for Vista International Packaging.

The manufacturing of products in the U.S. market will remain with the current Vista facility in Kenosha, Wisconsin.
