American Packaging Corporation announces another expansion

The board of directors of American Packaging Corporation, manufacturer of flexible packaging laminations, has approved the next $10 million expansion project at its Flexographic Printing and Laminating Division in Story City, IA.

The company’s decision to move forward with another expansion during the final stages of its current expansion at its Rotogravure printing facility in Columbus, WI demonstrates its confidence and commitment to the business.

“American Packaging is growing faster than the industry average. Not by mergers and acquisitions, but through reliable service to customers and continued investment in state-of-the-art equipment,” said President and CEO Peter Schottland.

In the last eight years American Packaging has invested over $170MM dollars in new capital equipment and facility upgrades to comply with its diversification capabilities program.  This program has significantly increased its capacity to meet the growing demand of its customers.  The Iowa project includes installation of a 10 color W&H VistaFlex gearless flexographic press, additional slitting equipment, as well as upgrades to existing equipment to satisfy increased demand for capacity.  The expansion is expected to create at least 20 new jobs.
