PHD, Inc. expands Huntington, IN facility, creates new jobs

Manufacturer and supplier of industrial automation components, PHD, Inc. has announced plans to expand operations in their Huntington, IN facility, creating up to 22 new jobs by 2017.

Headquartered in Fort Wayne, IN, PHD is investing $4.18 million to equip its 76,000 sq.-ft. production facility in Huntington. Multi-axis CNC equipment will be installed with plans to begin insourcing production of CNC-machined parts.

“Building and maintaining an affordable business climate is a top priority in the Hoosier State,” said Eric Doden, president of the Indiana Economic Development Corporation. “Through years of hard work and careful planning, we have established Indiana as a place where companies like PHD, Inc. can launch and grow long-term plans with confidence.”

PHD currently employs approximately 285 full-time employees, with more than 100 in Huntington. PHD plans to begin hiring CNC machinists and programmers in early May. Interested applicants may apply by contacting PHD’s human resource department at (260) 356-0120, ext. 694.

“PHD has a history of more than 55 years developing and manufacturing high-quality and long-life industrial automation components right here in Fort Wayne, and in Huntington for the last 30 years,” said David French, vice president of operations. “Our plans for growth enable us to compete more in the global marketplace, while providing the opportunity to add new machining capabilities as well as employment in our community.”

Founded in 1957, PHD, Inc. launched with the development of an innovative pneumatic cylinder in a downtown Fort Wayne garage. Today, PHD is a multinational, worldwide corporation with a professional distributor network and broad product offering to serve a wide range of industries.
