The recent localized government handout of samples of potassium iodide has sky-rocketed sales for online merchant Nukepills.com. Recent retail orders of Iosat(TM) Potassium Iodide have increased by almost 400% and wholesale orders to vendors and medical facilities have surged as well for the authorized national distributor.

A limited supply of potassium iodide tablets was handed out to people residing within 10 miles of select nuclear plants.

However, radiation would not stop at the 10-mile mark, as radioactive iodine from the Chernobyl disaster blanketed the population for over 300 miles. "People from all over are realizing that they should stockpile an adequate supply of potassium iodide and are purchasing the individual retail packs of FDA-approved full-strength 130mg tablets from our website," said Troy Jones, president of Nukepills.com. "From parents to hospitals, it seems everyone is stocking up right now. We are getting volume orders from the Middle East and Asia as well."

Stockpiling of potassium iodide is recommended by health officials worldwide to prevent thyroid cancer of those exposed to radioactive iodine in the event of a nuclear reactor accident or detonation of a nuclear bomb.

FDA-approved in 1982, individually foil-sealed Iosat Potassium Iodide is available without a prescription and was granted a 7-year shelf life by the FDA. More information about FDA-approved potassium iodide can be found online.
