Barry-Wehmiller Design Group and Barry-Wehmiller International merged to form a single, unified consulting platform that will operate under the Design Group name.

A year after moving into the premises in Regensburg’s TechBase and successful completion of its first projects, Krones AG’s Innovation Lab was officially inaugurated this Fall.

Sun Chemical entered into a license agreement to introduce new screen printable molecular inks for the printed electronics market with Groupe Graham International (GGI) and the National Research Council of Canada (NRC). The new ink technology developed by GGI and NRC will be produced by Sun Chemical and promoted collaboratively by all three organizations.

ProAmpac launched its redesigned website www.proampac.com.

PaperWorks Industries invested $3 million in a sheet-fed lithographic press at its Greensboro, NC facility that will enable value-added enhancements in a single pass that traditionally takes two- and three-passes to achieve.

Netherlands-based Weener Plastics acquired the shares and operations of Brazil-based Orange Products Plasticos Ltda.

People

TricorBraun Design & Engineering Group hired Eileen Krumm as Industrial Designer. Also, TricorBraun Inc. named Court Carruthers President and CEO.

Bob Morris was named President of J.L. Clark Inc.

Butler Automatic announced the following new appointments: Phil Johnson, Vice President Sales and Marketing, Lou Pelnar, Sales Director East, Mark Austin, Sales Director West, Loris Médart, Sales Director EMEA, and David Steines, Technical Sales Manager Europe.

Luke Gardner was hired as Custom Support Manager for Somic America.

Achievements

Hammer Packaging received two Printing Impressions Gold Ink Awards; a Silver for digital printing and a Pewter for packaging/labels.

Domino was awarded the “Company to Watch” award at the Digital Packaging Summit 2017.
