Pittsburgh, PA, December 13, 2013 – Matthews Marking Systems, a leading manufacturer of marking and coding products, announces the release of a pigmented, water fast, water-based ink for its drop-on-demand (DOD) print technology. The new APA-approved ink, SCP-340, is high performing, durable, and environmentally friendly.

With low volatile organic compounds (VOC) and no hazardous air pollutants (HAPS), the SCP-340 minimizes hazardous waste exposure, and mitigates business risk associated with people, processes, and plants. The SCP-340 also features high quality mark opacity, a water fast formulation, extended UV resistance, and no transfer to vinyl products. All of these features make the SCP-340 an excellent alternative to traditional solvent-based inks for wood marking.

Designed primarily for porous and semi-porous substrates, the SCP-340 provides superior marks on engineered wood, virgin wood, oriented strand board (OSB), plywood, drywall, brick, paneling, exterior gypsum board, porous fiberboard, and cement board.
