Scholle Corp. and IPN agreed to combine their businesses to form a new diverse performance packaging company, which will provide performance-based packaging from their manufacturing locations in North America, Europe, Australia, Latin America, China, and India.

xpedx earned the Energy Star® designation at its location in Middletown, CT.

Mocon, Inc. and Poland-based Ronox Technology have partnered to establish the first certified lab for permeation, seal strength, and leak detection testing of rigid and flexible packaging structures in Poland.

Sonoco announced the launch of a responsive corporate website that provides better access to visitors on tablets and mobile phones.

Adept Technology, Inc. announced a partnership with Harpak-ULMA Packaging, LLC, naming Harpak-ULMA a primary and secondary food packaging partner.

RockTenn acquired NPG, Inc.

Montreal-based Specialized Packaging Group, L.P. (SPG) sold Smith-Induspac Toronto, Smith-Induspac Ottawa, and Induspac Montreal to GAB Packaging Ltd., Candiac, Quebec.

WS Packaging Group Inc. expanded its digital printing capabilities with the installation of two HP Indigo WS6600 presses at its Algoma, WI, and Fullterton, CA, facilities.

Clariant announced the intention to acquire India-based Plastichemix Industries.

People

Clippard Instrument announced the following appointments. William L. Clippard, III as Chairman of the Board, Robert L. Clippard Vice Chairman of the Board, and John Campbell President.

Kelly Hall was appointed Vice President, Sales, for Avery Dennison’s Materials Group North America.

Pregis expanded its Systems Solutions Team with the addition of Scott Peterson, Director of Sales and Ivan Brewington, Business Development Manager. Pregis also created new business development manager positions within its IntelliPack® brand. Brian Allen was promoted to Manager, West Coast region and Jason Parsons to Manager, North Central region.

Mark Joseph joined Wago Corp. as Regional Sales Manager, New England.

va-Q-tec expanded into the Latin American market with the hiring of Edgardo Ipar who will manage the regional growth strategy, business development activities, sales, and form va-Q-tec’s LATAM depot network.

Chris Lingamfelter was appointed Vice President, Integrated System Sales and Strategy for Intelligrated®.

Victor Rodriguez joined Axium Foods as Packaging Manager.

Chris Glenn was promoted to Vice President of Manufacturing and Engineering Operations for Hytrol Conveyor Co.
