Saint-Gobain: Chemlam copper tape

Chemlam® Copper tape, a new CHR adhesive tape product from Saint-Gobain Performance Plastics (Hoosick Falls, NY), has a layer of polytetrafluoroethylene film over PTFE impregnated fiberglass fabric.

Construction allows the tape to last longer and provides greater release properties than comparable tapes, which are coated fabrics with adhesive layers, company says. Tape acts as a replaceable nonstick surface for heat sealing units in packaging equipment, preventing flexible packaging films from melting onto the heating element and impeding production. Tape operates effectively at -100 deg to +500 deg F.
