LLDPE polymer

Made in a gas-phase process, MXSTEN polymers from Eastman Chemical (Kingsport, TN) are characterized by an extra low density of 0.905 and unusually high dart-impact and tear strength.

MXSTEN polymers are targeted for use in the meat and poultry wrap markets, food packaging, hygienics, and stretch film markets. The tear strength of LLDPE films is said to be excellent in both the machine and transverse directions. Densities can range from 0.905 to 0.914 g/cc, and the melt index range is from 0.5 to 3.2.
