Schneider Electric: Sensor detects transparent items

The OsiSense XUBT1 from Schneider Electric is a photo-electric sensor that detects transparent materials such as PET bottles, translucent wrapping film and colored glass in bottling and other manufacturing processes.

The XUBT1, is a ready-to-use sensor that is easy to install and well-suited for use in conveying applications as well as flow and jamming detection in food and beverage packaging. The 18mm diameter sensor operates in conjunction with a reflector and is easily mounted on the production line using a bracket. A very simple-to-use teach mode is incorporated in the sensor and a single press on the “Teach” button optimizes the detection parameters, while 3 LEDs simplify maintenance. Features a sensing distance of 0.8m.
