SICK, Inc: Clear-material sensing

Sick's (Bloomington, MN) WL 12G photoelectric reflex sensor for transparent objects has a sensing range of more than 6' and can detect any clear material, from plastic to film to glass.

When objects such as clear plastic bottles pass by the sensor, it sees its reflector between the bottles. If the light reflected back to the sensor becomes dimmer due to dust on the lens, the sensor will automatically adjust its sensitivity.
