The coating is applied to only the twist area, and amounts and direction can be controlled. Can be used with most oriented films, including PP, as thin as 18 microns (.72 mil).

The Twistall System from UCB Transpac (Brussels, Belgium) allows thin films to be used as a twisting material for candy, throat lozenges, or similar applications.
