Hassia (Morganville, NJ) has developed the SAS 20/30 for aseptic operation to form, fill, and seal pouches made of flexible materials. Machine is primarily intended for use in the convenience food and dairy product market, and it’s said to be the first multilane machine to package low-acid food products aseptically.

Printed rollstock unwinds from the back of one of Golden Flake's new vf/f/s machines from Heat and Control. After a knife cuts between the seal area, the filled bag discharges at the bottom of the machine.

Superior Dairy: Blow molding of plastic milk bottles
At this Ohio dairy manufacturer, one floor above the filling line, HDPE bottles are blown and flash is trimmed. Then bottles are transported through a pneumatic tube to a bagging machine.

Diamond of California: Scale systems for shelled nuts
Computerized scales from Hayssen deliver accurate amounts of nuts on this 16-head system that includes an upper scale with a booster hopper directly beneath. Nuts released from the scales fall through stainless-steel tubes into vf/f/s equipment.
