Weber Packaging Solutions: Color inkjet printer fulfills GHS labeling mandates

Weber Packaging Solutions’ new Epson ColorWorks GP-C831 inkjet printer is an industrial-strength, high-speed label printer suitable for GHS (Globally Harmonized System) large-format drum and chemical labels, and provides label print speeds up to 16.5 pages/min. to print on pressure-sensitive labels up to 8-in. x 22-in.

Unlike dye-based inks, the ColorWorks unit utilizes pigment-based inks that firmly bind to label facesheets to provide quality print resistance to chemicals and water that could result in print fading or smudging.

The label printer is designed for commercial environments, is dust and water resistant, and is virtually maintenance free. The unit uses four CMYK ink cartridges, and is capable of printing spot and process color images.

The ColorWorks printer operates with Weber’s exclusive Legitronic labeling software, which simplifies label formatting, editing, and printing.  A variety of blank, pressure-sensitive label materials for use with the system is also available.
