Packaging Services Expo will take place on May 10-12, 2005 at the Donald E. Stephens Convention Center, Rosemont, IL. Packaging Services will benefit from major sponsorships by The Institute of Packaging Professionals (IoPP) and Packaging World magazine.

Contract manufacturing and packaging, and packaging services, is now a multi-billion dollar business, with an estimated 75% of items found in the kitchen, bathroom, or garage not packed by the company whose name is on the label. Brand owners today focus on what they are good at, leaving the specialist packaging services companies to meet their manufacturing and packaging needs.

Exhibitors at PSE will offer the latest in manufacturing and packaging technology services across a range of diverse end-user industry sectors. Visitors including blue chip companies, brand owners, and specialist manufacturers will have the opportunity to find outsourcing partners to handle matters such as new product launches, product recalls, upsurges in demand, product or packaging compliances, specialist filling, packing or labeling expertise, and fulfilment services.

The exhibition will be supported by keynote and specialist conference sessions running each morning of the show. Expert speakers will discuss how contract packaging and partner sourcing have helped their business; review the latest products and services available; hear about new smart packaging solutions; and discuss the latest compliance, legal, and quality requirements.

Don Browne, packaging services event manager, says, “Partnering with contract and service companies is a very important part of the packaging industry with 60% of all companies in all industries having gone to at least one outside group to complete their production cycle. Packaging services will be the ‘one-stop’ for sourcing critical partners for the best speed to market and we are very excited about the launch of this new show.”

Ed Landon, executive director of the Institute of Packaging Professionals, says, "77% of IoPP's members buy packaging services, including contract packaging, package design, package testing and more. IoPP members will come to PSE to meet the leading packaging service companies, at an expo and conference program dedicated exclusively to this fast-growing segment of the packaging industry."

Joseph Angel, Vice President/Publisher, Packaging World, says, "Packaging World is pleased to be a key media partner with the new Packaging Services Expo. Brand owners are increasingly looking for contract packaging and design solutions to help bring their packages to market. Our own research shows a very high percentage of our readers now specify packaging services, with a majority of those in upper management. This focused event will uniquely address this audience."
