Many of the feedstream variants that are found today in recycled PET will cause yellowing because when degraded they create color bodies.

An important factor for all recyclers is that the quality of recycled PET is declining. The recycled stream is very different than it was even five years ago. The reason for this is that the number and quantity of feedstream variants are increasing in the recycled stream.
