Lovett receives Harris A. Smith Award at Clemson

Darius Lovett was recently named the Fall 2014 recipient of the Harris A. Smith Packaging Science Outstanding Senior Award at Clemson University’s Department of Food, Nutrition, and Packaging Sciences.

While at Clemson, Lovett completed a six-month Co-op at Exopack LLC (now Coveris), where he worked under the Quality Control Manager developing job instruction matrices for various departments; he also performed industry standard tests on packages and packaging materials. This past summer Lovett completed another internship working with a Clemson professor developing packaging lectures and conducting eye-tracking studies to acquire data regarding human purchasing behavior. And over the past four years, Lovett has received the Louis B. Lynn Scholarship as well as the Dr. Jorge Marcondes Memorial Scholarship. He’s been active in the Packaging Science Club, the Clemson Innovation Design and Entrepreneurship Among Students Club, and the Sigma Alpha Lambda National Leadership and Honors Organization. Lovett graduates from Clemson this December.
