Food safety education a highlight of Pack Expo

At Pack Expo Las Vegas September 23-25, The Food Safety Resource Center's newest sponsor will present critical educational sessions on how advances in technology and software can contribute to food safety in manufacturing and packaging.

PMMI, The Association for Packaging and Processing Technologies, the owner and producer of PACK EXPO, is pleased to announce GE Intelligent Platforms will sponsor the Food Safety Summit Resource Center (FSSRC) at Pack Expo Las Vegas (Sept. 23–25, 2013; Las Vegas Convention Center). In conjunction with this sponsorship, GE Intelligent Platforms will deliver six presentations highlighting the roles of technology and software in food safety and manufacturing.

“We’re excited to be part of PACK EXPO Las Vegas 2013,” says Katie Moore, global industry manager for Food and Beverage, GE Intelligent Platforms. “The attendees at PACK EXPO are leaders making a difference in the food and beverage marketplace.”

The GE Intelligent Platforms presentations will be made at both the Innovation Stage and the FSSRC.  In all, there will be six presentations:

Track and Trace: Improve Food Safety by Leveraging Raw Material Intelligence (FSSRC)
Speaker: Katie Moore
Manufacturers that use traceability information to improve food safety can virtually prevent recalls instead of trying to minimize the impact after a recall occurs. With advanced software, you can trace a product throughout every step of the manufacturing process so you know the origin and destination of all incoming materials and outgoing finished goods—improving food safety by leveraging raw material intelligence.
