Pack Expo Las Vegas 2013 owner and producer PMMI, the Association for Packaging and Processing Technologies, announced today that Packaging World (Summit Media Group, Inc.) has signed on as a sponsor of PACK gives BACK, the benefit reception and concert featuring singer-songwriter Kenny Loggins.

The concert takes place Monday, Sept. 23, from 4:00–7:00 pm at the Las Vegas Convention Center. Proceeds from ticket sales will benefit K9s for Warriors, a Florida-based charity that pairs service dogs with military veterans struggling with post-traumatic stress as a result of conflicts and wartime service following 9/11.

“Packaging World is proud to be a sponsor of the PACK gives BACK Opening Reception, featuring Kenny Loggins, to support veterans suffering from PTSD. We applaud PMMI for their effort to give back to true American heroes via this benefit concert,” says Joe Angel, Vice President/Publisher, Packaging World.

PMMI President & CEO Chuck Yuska notes K9s for Warriors’ efforts are more complex than they might seem at first glance. One in five warriors returns from combat with post-traumatic stress issues, and service dogs are medically-proven recovery aids, considered medical equipment and are recognized by the U. S. Department of Justice Civil Rights Division, and the American disability act of 1990.

“During each three-week K9s for Warriors Academy session, the staff of skilled certified canine handlers and trainers teaches warriors the skills they need to train their dogs. K9s for Warriors provides — free of charge — a service canine, training, certification, equipment, seminars, vet care, most meals and housing,” Yuska notes. “It’s an honor to be able to help K9s for Warriors achieve their mission.”

In addition to his work as one half of “Loggins & Messina,” Celebrated singer and songwriter Kenny Loggins is well known for the hits that gained him fame as “King of the Movie Soundtrack” in the 1980s. Some of Loggins’ best-known works include “I’m Alright” from Caddyshack (1980), “Danger Zone” from Top Gun (1986) and the title track from “Footloose” (1984).

The PACK gives BACK opening reception will be held September 23, 4-7 p.m., in the North Hall of the Las Vegas Convention Center. Tickets are $25, and available only to Pack Expo Las Vegas 2013 registrants. Revenue from ticket sales will be donated to K9s for Warriors.
