Once the cartons are under the labelling heads, which have very fine vertical and horizontal adjustment mechanisms, they are labelled with a vignette on the upper panel and with two tamper evident seals on the closing points. The 2D Data Matrix code is printed on the upper panel and on the side flaps to identify every single carton as well as the human readable data. These codes are then verified by a camera. The machine is managed with fail safe logic so that any non-compliant products are rejected at the end of the process.
The BL A421is a special version of Marchesini’s series of carton labeling and tracking machines for track and trace activities in the pharmaceutical industry. In addition to the strengths of the well-known BL A420 version--ergonomic structure with separate working and mechanical zones to facilitate maintenance work, quick size changeovers and pre-arrangement to accommodate the main types of printing and camera vision systems of serialization codes--customers can request a machine tailored specifically for the product and regulation needs of their countries.
