FDA has established January 1, 2006, as the uniform compliance date for food labeling regulations issued between January 1, 2003, and December 31, 2004.

FDA periodically establishes such dates to minimize the economic impact of label changes. For example, January 1, 2004, is the compliance date for food labeling regulations issued between January 1, 2001, and December 31, 2002.
