A.R.C.: Computerized netweigher for roofing nails

Roofing nails are distributed by a vibratory feeder to the vf/f/s cone, which spreads them to the ring of 14 sets of buckets. The computer-controlled buckets provide the nails three-buckets-at-a-time to the bagger and onto a takeaway conveyor at a rate to 40/min of the 50-count, 1.5-lb bags. Equipment was supplied by Batching Systems.

< A.R.C. Fastener Supply, Rancho Cucamonga, CA, operates a stand-alone Bagmaster[tm] vertical form/fill/seal bagger for kits containing identical pieces. The bagging system includes a 14-head Bilwinco combination netweigher for which Batching Systems, Inc. (Prince Frederick, MD) is the exclusive North American distributor. Started up in late 2000, the system handles bag counts ranging from 50 to 500 parts.

On a new shampoo line at this contract packaging facility, bottles are metered into and out of the filler from Pacific Packaging Machinery via starwheels. Shampoo is filled volumetrically in continuous motion into bottles that rest individually on cam-operated platforms.
