Beckhoff Automation: Convenient Control Panel Mounting

The CP79xx line of Control Panels for mounting arm installation is designed to improve the flexibility of industrial display installation for machine builders and manufacturers.

One highlight of the CP79xx panels is the integrated DVI/USB extension technology, enabling installation at distances up to 164 feet (50 meters) from the machine controller or PC. This provides greater flexibility to install human-machine interface (HMI) hardware in the most convenient locations for machine operators, helping optimize plant floor operations. Following the previously released CP72xx Panel PCs, also for mounting-arm installation, the CP79xx Control Panel series is for applications that require only the TFT display hardware and do not need an integrated PC processor. In order to achieve a distance of 164 feet (50 meters) without hubs, the panels’ USB extension converts the USB signal and transfers it via 50-meter CAT5 cables that are commonly used for Ethernet wiring. The signal is converted back to USB 1.1 when it reaches the Control Panel.
