Silgan Plastics expands strategic partnership in North East, PA

Silgan Plastics has announced that it will greenfield a new production facility in North East, PA for a key customer.

The facility will provide highly responsive, flexible service and support for their customer’s future growth plans, while bringingapproximately 30 new jobs to the area. Construction has begun on the approximately 135,000 square foot plant. The facility will focus primarily on the manufacture of containers for various food products and is expected to be operational by late 2015.

Sarah Macdonald, President of Silgan Plastics explained that “We are extremely pleased to provide this value-added supply chain solution for one of our long term, strategic customers. This investment is completely aligned with our vision“To be the customer’s first choice every-time”. She went on to say “This exciting news is a true testament of the dedication and expertise of our respective teams who have worked very closely together to bring this opportunity to fruition."

Silgan would like to acknowledge the Governor’s Action Team, North East Township and DevelopErie, whose support was invaluable in allowing this project to move forward.
