Following Strong 2010, Hoffer Plastics Purchases Four New Presses

On the heels of a solid 2010 which saw revenues increase 23 percent and the addition of 50 new employees, Hoffer Plastics, one of the largest custom injection molding firms in the U.S., has recently purchased and installed four new, high-tech production presses.

The new presses, which represent an investment of $1.6 million, include three 470-ton Demag Systec injection molding presses and matched Wittmann-Battenfeld robots and an extended daylight 600-ton high-speed KraussMaffei unit. The machines highlight Hoffer's long-standing commitment to provide its customers with the most efficient and highest quality plastic injection molding services in the industry.

Though suitable for a number of injection molding applications, the new presses will be used primarily for packaging customers in the food, health and beauty and pharmaceutical segments such as Procter & Gamble, Kraft and Johnson & Johnson.
“We tend to upgrade our injection molding machines every seven or eight years in order to keep pace with the latest technology,” said William Hoffer, president of Hoffer Plastics. “We've earned a reputation for consistent quality and these new presses will allow us to continue to meet our customers' high expectations.”
