Nestlé Building Plant-based Food Facility in China

Project is part of company’s $100 million-plus investment plan to increase Nestlé’s presence in the area.

Nestlé is planning to spend more than $100 million to expand its manufacturing footprint in China. The project will include its first plant-based food facility for Asia. Set to be built in the Tianjin Economic-Technological Development Area (TEDA), the facility is projected to be operational by the end of this year.

The $100 million-plus investment also will include the expansion of the Nestlé Purina pet food facility, an upgrade of the company's Chengzhen Wafer production line, and the development of the Tianjin Nestlé Quality Assurance Center.
