Decorated caps pass P&G's speed-to-market test

Speed to market was a critical factor in producing the shrink-sleeve labels that decorate caps on two varieties of Tide with Febreze Freshness.

After Quick Pak conducted initial production- line trials in March and additional trials and package testing in April, P&G required that Quick Pak deliver two million decorated caps beginning in June, when it would begin producing the liquid laundry detergent. The shrink sleeves come in two colors, each denoting a different product scent. Quick Pak met P&G’s production requirements, and the new product was launched on schedule in August.

Sleeves are reverse-printed in five colors in rotogravure at Multi-Color to produce a teal label representing the Meadows & Rain scent and a purple label signaling the Spring & Renewal scent.
