ISO Poly Films and Sigma Plastics Group announce strategic partnership

The just-announced alliance of ISO Poly Films, Inc. and Sigma Plastics Group brings together the companies’ strengths in product development, film quality, advanced systems and market presence.

ISO Poly Films--which operates a 135,000-square foot facility in Gray Court, South Carolina--is a custom extruder of high-end multi-layer plastic films for the food, medical and industrial markets. The Sigma Plastics Group, based in Lyndhurst, New Jersey, is the largest privately-owned film extrusion group in the US, Canada, Central and South America.

“We are extremely excited about this partnership and the opportunities it brings to ISO Poly Films in allowing us to continue to grow, even during these most difficult economic times,” said Jon McClure, Founder and President of ISO Poly Films. “Sigma is a marketplace leader and we feel confident that aligning ourselves with a larger company will create a win-win-win for our customers, employees and the community.”

ISO Poly Films has invested more than $35 million in the development and expansion of its state-of-the-art facility and in manufacturing equipment. ISO Poly currently offers a wide range of engineered films, including critical application mono-layer, three-layer, and seven-layer high-barrier co-extrusions. The company will install additional capacity in three-layer and seven-layer co-extrusion lines in the first and second quarters of 09. “It’s important to continue investing in the growth of our company and increase our capabilities to produce specialty films, and this partnership boosts our ability to get stronger and bigger at a time when other companies are contracting,” McClure stated.

Sigma has 34 manufacturing facilities, producing annual throughput of 1.5 billion pounds of resin. The company manufactures industrial, commercial plastic film, stretch film, merchandise bags, and more. As part of the strategic partnership, Alfred Teo, Chairman of Sigma, will serve as ISO Poly Films’ Board Chairman.
