“The three new categories of operator interfaces represent the broadest set of HMI solutions ever offered by Eaton,” said Adam Bainbridge, product manager, Automation, Eaton. “Through the new product families, customers of all sizes can now harness the power of extremely fast logic, high resolution screens, and state-of-the-art, multi-touch interfaces to cost-effectively bring their manufacturing processes into the future.”

Ideal for cost driven machinery OEMs, Eaton’s XV100 basic HMI provides proven performance, standard HMI features with world-class, reliable application support. The remote access feature reduces costs and downtime by monitoring and controlling the machine from anywhere.

The XV100 basic HMI can be used in landscape or portrait modes ensuring an adaptable fit while optimizing visualization. Designed with versatile communications hardware options, all XV100’s have standard Ethernet and USB ports that require no custom programming.

The XV300 advanced HMI includes a powerful new industrial HMI and programmable logic controller (PLC) multi-touch panel solution portfolio for operator interface automation and control applications. This product was made for machine builders in mind looking for the most modern forward-looking user experience they can provide.

The XV300 series incorporates precise gesture based controls, multimedia integration and intuitive user guidance. The XV300 Advanced HMI also features a compact and sleek design, with heavy-duty, anti-glare toughened glass panels that integrate media elements such as video, PDF and web content. The XV300 Advanced HMI also offers gestures support for improved efficiency when navigating complex menu screens. For example, users can flick to scroll through parameter lists, swipe left or right to change pages, or swipe up and down to reveal hidden menus.

For the most demanding OEM applications, Eaton’s XP500 series industrial panel PC offers the best of flexible configurability and robust design. With a scratch-resistant toughened glass screen, cast aluminum housing and fan-less design, the XP500 is a slim space saving panel that can operate in the harshest environments and hazardous applications. Additionally, the XP500 runs on Windows Embedded Standard 7 for compatibility with a wide variety of user software and Eaton’s visualization suite.

The unique combination of Eaton’s three new interfaces makes it possible for OEMs and machine builders in packaging, materials handling and conveying, water treatment and food and beverage industries to leverage a reduced number of high performance I/O slices with features focused on applications to reduce installation space and costs.

In combination, these easy-to-use tools can help OEMs minimize design complexity, reduce development time and support costs, and create value for end users through object-oriented, re-usable templates and controls.

The products come bundled with a choice of three licensed software packages. Eaton’s Visual Designer HMI/SCADA package offers a full-featured graphics platform to connect to traditional PLC products; Eaton’s XSoft-CoDeSys software bundle offers a full-featured, powerful IEC-61131 PLC combined with an integrated graphical user interface for an all-in-one HMI-PLC; and Galileo 10 is an intuitive, powerful engineering environment that takes little time to master and meets basic requirements involved in todays on machine operation.
