Vision system provides film savings

A new registration system for roll-fed packaging machines is based on Cognex vision technology and supplied by A.M.E. Engineering.

The system searches for a predefined target on the printed film and eliminates the need for an “eyemark” on the film. Setup time for any film, from any one of 30 different recipes, is reduced to not more than a few seconds. Film registration location is tightly held over a wide variety of conditions, and for a long period of time.
